- Pad Thai
- Climbing on perfect rock off a perfect beach with the ocean 20 feet behind you
- Instead of asking "how are you?", you ask "have you eaten yet?"
- Thai massages
- Panang curry
- When you smile at people, they actually smile back at you (think about it, Spain)
- Thai iced tea
- Discount airlines! 30-40 dollars for domestic flights, only 40 dollars for my flight from Krabi to Singapore
- It's cheap
- It's beautiful
In other news, I went snorkeling yesterday and jumped off the boat when it was a little too shallow and planted my foot into a not-so-friendly sea urchin that was well-endowed in the spines department. It was quite painful, but the upside was that I had been wondering for some time just how bad those things would hurt, and I got to receive first-hand enlightenment.
If this internet wasn't so slow I'd post some pictures, but I ended up changing my plans as predicted and I'm flying to Bali in a few days via Singapore. It sounds like there isn't anything to do in Singapore except spend money, so I'll probably spend a few hours on the internet to upload pics from Thailand and stuff.
One other note - I've been gone for eight months!

im jealous youre still traveling, though i am vaguely glad to be going home soon. japan is way expensive. singapore is easily manageable, the only thing that might hurt is accomodation. the food courts are actually good food and you can get full meals for under 3 dollars. i would recommend the singapore zoo, it is the best i have seen in the world. the night safari was kind of neat, but if youre crunched for money i think the zoo is adequate animal awesomeness. the asian civilizations museum was the most hightech musuem and had lots of historical stuff. sentosa was touristy but kind of fun. you arent there too long though so maybe you wont have time for any of this. im glad you climbed at ton sai! i really liked it too; how was the gear rental?
